Your skin needs looking after to help it look and feel its best, which means tailoring your skincare products to its needs. Everyone's skin is different and will have its own problem areas or requirements, which is why there is no such thing as a fully universal product to care for it.

Whether you have oily, combination or dry skin, or even if you want to fight the signs of ageing, our Traditional Soaps can help care for your complexion.

All of our Traditional Soaps are completely natural and are made with the best quality ingredients. We combine a range of base oils - including olive oil, coconut oil, organic sustainable palm oil, castor seed oil and cocoa butter - with essential oils, flower extracts, herbs, spices and natural colourings to create gentle and effective bars of soap that smell amazing.

Because we don't add any chemical detergents or harsh preservatives, our soaps are suitable for using on your body, hands and face, ensuring you get the same benefits all over. This also means you don't need to buy numerous products as a single bar is everything you need.

So which of our traditional soaps is the best one for you? Here are some of the common skin types and the best soaps for them to help you design the perfect skincare routine:

Dry skin

Due to all the natural oils and butters contained in our soaps, all of which create a wonderfully soft lather, they are nice and moisturising without being too heavy. However, as dry skin requires a little bit more TLC, especially if it is also sensitive, using a soap that contains more moisturising ingredients is the best option.

Our Queen of the Nile Soap is made with goat's milk, which is great for skin as it contains a lot of fatty acids and is full of vitamins and minerals that are important for your skin, such as selenium and vitamin A. This means it can help address dry areas, reduce flaking and scaling, all the while smelling amazing.

Alternatively, try our Seaweed Soap, which uses natural seaweed to create a lovely fragrance. This ingredient is also packed with vitamins, minerals and fatty acids so, once again, is perfect for nourishing and brightening dry skin.

Combination skin

Everyone's skin is different and will have its own problem areas

Combination skin can be incredibly difficult to deal with as some areas need extra moisture to help dry skin, while others get oily easily. When it comes to combination complexions, you need products that will provide balance and care for every part of your skin to suit its needs.

This is why our Lavender Soap is such a great choice. Lavender works by signalling to your skin if it is creating too much or too little natural oil, which results in a combination complexion. This means that your skin is better able to balance itself so you'll find that dry and oily areas become less of a problem.

Oily skin

If you find that your skin tends to get oily, you need a soap that will help to remove some of this excess oil to help mattify it. This will help to avoid spots and clogged pores while also helping with makeup application. You can use our Lavender Soap to balance out your skin, but there are other options too.

Our Citrus Grove Soap contains lovely citrus oils and turmeric to help wash away excess oil without stripping your skin too much, which can make your skin start producing even more oil. The natural oils it contains will also help to balance out your complexion without leaving it feeling greasy.

Herbal Mint Soap is also a great option as it is deeply cleansing but still gentle, helping to leave skin feeling fresh and revitalised.

Spot-prone skin

Skin doesn't just need to be oily to be prone to spots and blackheads. All skin types can develop spots, which can be a problem to get rid of. However, using the right soap can help deal with the issue of spots head on, helping to soothe them, make them disappear and stop them from forming.

The best option for spot-prone skin has to be our Tea Tree Soap, which contains tea tree oil for a great smell and amazing natural antiseptic properties. Not only does this soap moisturise and offer a deep cleanse, it actively fights bacteria that can result in spots. It also helps to reduce inflammation so helps ease the redness and swelling caused by existing spots.
