You might have all the Christmas presents at the ready and the turkey good to go, but there is more that you need to do in order to make sure your house is all set for December 25th.
Whether you're having a quiet Christmas at home, getting the family over or are going to be spending the day wrangling kids, there are a few things you should remember to do before the real madness starts.
Here are some ways you can get your home ready for Christmas and hopefully take some stress out of the festive day:
Get rid of clutter
Once you've opened all your presents and scattered wrapping paper, ribbon and tags all over the place, your lounge can look more than a little bit messy. If there's general clutter in the mix too, it can make it more difficult to sort out and may leave you a bit stressed.
If you're also having people round, clutter might make it difficult for everyone to find places to perch. Have a quick tidy and get rid of things that aren't needed, even if that means popping them in a bedroom or somewhere else out of the way until after Christmas.
Clear out your fridge
You might not think that your fridge needs a clear out, but when you're trying to fit all the leftovers in after Christmas dinner, you'll be regretting not making space beforehand. Throw anything away that has been in there for weeks without being touched and look at what actually needs to be refrigerated.
It may be tempting to fill the space you make with your favourite alcoholic beverages, but you need to save it for the leftover turkey and trifle.
Make it feel Christmassy
The decorations may be up and you might have a few presents under the tree already, but this isn't all you need to do to make your home feel festive. Add a fragrance into the mix that reminds you of the season and will help your house feel cosier.
Something like our Orange Spice reed diffuser could be a great option, or our Sandalwood and Oud candle. Both of these are deliciously warming fragrances that will ignite your Christmas spirit in no time.
