Are you someone who loves flowers? If so, you'll definitely want your garden to be full of beautiful blooms when spring arrives, which means you need to start planning now.

Autumn might only just be creeping up on us, but favourite flowers like bright daffodils, gorgeous lilies, colourful crocuses and fragrant hyacinths all need to be in the ground before the end of September if you want them to enjoy them next spring.

September planting tips

Make the most of the end of the summer by spending time in your garden and planting all of your spring-flowering bulbs. It might seem early, but they need to be firmly rooted in the ground before winter sets in so they are ready to flower come spring.

If you had perennial flowers bloom this spring and summer, September is the ideal time to collect the seeds from these to be resown back into the ground straight away so they will flower again next year.

Unfortunately, all the digging and scrabbling around in the soil can be harsh on your hands, especially with the weather starting to get a little chillier at this time of year. With this in mind, make sure to give your hands some TLC when you've hung up your gardening gloves and trowel for the day.

Start by washing your hands thoroughly and giving them a good scrub, using our Gardener's Traditional Soap, which includes poppy seeds and oatmeal to exfoliate and deep clean your skin. It also contains natural oils and butters so it is supremely nourishing.

Follow up by applying one of our floral-scented hand lotions, like our Citrus & Lavender or Neroli & Rose Hand Lotion, which will allow you to bring the fragrance of the outdoors in - and wherever else you go all day - thanks to their sweet, lingering floral notes.

Bring the scent of your garden inside

If you're already starting to miss the sweet smell of spring, you can fill your home with the season's fragrances months before your garden blooms by making the most of our reed diffusers. With gorgeous scents available, including Neroli & Rose and Jasmine & Lilac, you can fill your home with the beautiful floral bouquet of spring.

Make yourself smell beautiful too by using our Jasmine & Lilac Soap Brick in your morning shower. Suitable for hands, body and face, the wonderfully softening soap will ensure you smell like spring all day long and all through the autumn and winter.

Once you have your garden set for spring and all your favourite products to hand, you can start looking forward to the milder season - even if it is a few months away yet!
