At Heyland and Whittle, we've worked with some fantastic brands over the years and have created beautiful ranges of candles, home fragrance and beauty products. We've recently undertaken another collaboration that we're really excited about; working with the Cornish fashion and homeware brand, Seasalt.
We've been working with Seasalt to create a range of three stunning fragrances that are all inspired by places in Cornwall.
While we've been working on the scents, designer Sophie Chadwick from Seasalt's design studio created gorgeous designs to represent each of the different fragrances and the areas they are inspired by.
This has led to the creation of an iconic range that has something for everyone, which means anyone can have a little bit of Cornwall in their home.
So what can you expect from each of the fragrances?
This Sea Breeze fragrance is inspired by the coast of Sennen, which is home to the picturesque Sennen Cove.
Reminiscent of clifftop walks along the Cornish coast and the fresh breeze off the sea, the fragrance is the perfect blend of floral and sweet notes. It features bergamot, sweet lemon and mandarin in the opening notes, resulting in a citrus scent with a herbal edge.
This transforms into rose, jasmine and freesia, creating a lovely balance between the fruity top notes. Underneath these fragrance aspects is a base of patchouli and cedar, adding an incredibly subtle smokiness.
All of these aspects result in a complex and effective scent that will transport you to the seaside.
Sticking with the coastal theme, the packaging of the Sennan range features colourful boats on a perfectly blue sea, which was taken from Seasalt's The Fisherman's Garden collection.
A very different scent to Sennen, Roseland is a stunning rose fragrance that perfectly captures the floral spring and summer season of the Roseland Peninsula in West Cornwall.
The main element of this range is Rose, to create a scent that is inspired by the beautiful wild roses that are found throughout the hedgerows of Roseland, which is blended with sweet neroli and jasmine to create a stunning floral fragrance that still has fresh notes.
These floral elements are supported by a base of musk and amber, which add depth and warmth to the sparkling top notes.
To reflect the quintessential floral scent of the collection, the packaging features a red rose print created by Cornish artist Kaye Trelour. It is taken from a series called The Artist's Garden and is the perfect accompaniment to the beautiful fragrance.
The final fragrance in the range is Lemon Verbena. This is inspired by the coastal village of Lamorna, which is located on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall.
It's all about the freshness of Cornish summers, which are aided by the abundance of lemon verbena found in the county. This beautiful plant has a sharp, citrus scent and is known to thrive in Cornwall's sub-tropical climate, which makes it the perfect representation of beautiful Lamorna.
To recreate this iconic scent, we've combined fresh lemongrass with green olive, which adds a subtle peppery element to balance the citrus notes. This is underlined by green herbs and bergamot to deepen the fragrance while still creating a green and natural scent.
Working perfectly with the fresh fragrance, the packaging features a print of green and yellow leaves, which is just as bright as the scent. This is another of Sophie's designs and is taken from The Sea Garden collection.
Each of these gorgeous fragrances are available in candles in glasses and tins, as well as reed diffusers. You can also enjoy them in body products, as they come in individual soaps, which also feature in a gift set, and luxurious bath melts.
This means you have plenty of ways to enjoy the scents of Cornwall and can instantly transport you to the coast, wherever you are.
To help you enjoy the new scents, you can get free P&P on all products in the range until October 31st using the code 'seasalt'.
