Summer has arrived, which means packing your suitcase and heading off on holiday. It’s no different for the staff here at Heyland & Whittle, who are looking forward to some time to relax and be inspired by a variety of destinations.
With this in mind, we thought it would be fun to see where the Heyland & Whittle team are jetting off to, what they will be getting up to and the products they’ll be packing. Read on for some summer inspiration from those in the know.
Meet Charlie Bone, he’s our cold-pressed soap maker supervisor
Charlie will be heading to Thailand for his annual holiday, where he will be indulging his love of fishing. Sounds like the perfect way to unwind and soak up the tranquility of nature. His favourite product is the Hemp & Walnut Soap Bar, which is certain to make it into his luggage. Soap Bars are a great way to beat airport liquid restrictions and this particular one is a good all-rounder, as it’s perfect for shaving as well as general cleaning.
Introducing Luke Bidwell, our own brand manager
If you find it difficult to drift off in a new place, then follow in the footsteps of Luke, who will be taking the Sleep Easy Room Spray with him to Dubai this summer. The soothing combination of lavender and chamomile will soon help you to forget you’re not in your own bed. He’ll also be packing the Men’s Luxury 3-in-1 Wash, because this multitasking product is a summer must-have for the discerning traveller who likes to save space in his luggage.

Take a tip from Daniel Shaw, our general manager
A true adventurer, Dan is setting off across the salty sea for destinations unknown. He hopes to find remote islands where he can relax and forget all of the stresses of the modern world. Not content with just sailing atop the ocean, Dan will be bathing in its bounty, as he always packs the Seaweed Soap Bar. Brimming with the vitamins, minerals and amino acids that are found naturally in spirulina seaweed, its beautiful sea green hue will no doubt help him recall his voyages once he returns home.
Coordinate your scents with Roxana Asaftei, our social media manager
Similar to how the perfect pair of shoes demands a corresponding handbag and your pearl necklace must be teamed with complementary studs, Roxana knows how to coordinate her fragrances in style. Not only will she be exfoliating her skin with the Neroli & Rose Body Scrub before she heads up north to Longyearbyen Svalbard, but there will be a tube of Neroli & Rose Hand Cream in her carry-on bag too. This approach to layering scents means she’ll be able to top up as she goes and protect her hands from the Arctic elements.

Feel at home with Sophie Bence, our workshop manager
She may be looking forward to sunning herself in Santorini this summer, but our workshop manager will not feel too far from home with our classic Earl Grey Candle in a Tin. This instantly recognisable fragrance encapsulates the comforting feeling of a hot cup of tea, calming nerves and letting you truly relax. Sophie is also a fan of our Mini Favour Soap range, which allows you to take a 45g bar with you wherever you go. For her, it has to be the Jasmine and Lilac scent, which is simply summer in a soap.
Get fizzy with Carol Vigors, our administration assistant and credit controller
What could be better than a glass of fizz while you watch the sun set in Gibraltar? Ask our administrative assistant, who will be going one step further and bathing in the Clementine & Prosecco Hand & Body Wash this holiday season. Good news, Carol, because your favourite Heyland & Whittle product is now available in the Travel Collection, meaning you won’t need to worry about getting it past security as you fly off to the continent.
Staycation with Sharon Coombes, our office administrator
She may be heading to Cornwall this summer, but Sharon will be dreaming about being Queen of the Nile with our delicious soap bar in this tempting fragrance. Cornwall is a favourite staycation destination at Heyland & Whittle, as we all love the warm climate and fresh air it evokes. If, like Sharon, you want to make your holiday vibes last as long as possible, light the Open Window Candle in a Tin once you return home and you’ll instantly be transported back to long days exploring the Cornish Riviera.
